XP & Ranking
How XP is earned and how rank works
What is XP?
XP (Experience Points) is the score that determines your rank in a battle. You earn XP by playing games. Better performance (e.g. wins, streaks, clearing boards) yields more XP. Even losses typically award a small consolation XP so that participation is always rewarded.
How XP is earned
- Per game — Each game has its own XP formula. Examples:
- Win:
cost × multiplier(e.g. 2.0×). - Loss:
cost × consolation(e.g. 0.2×). - Streaks — In games like Hi/Lo, a win streak can increase the XP multiplier (e.g. 1.0×, 1.5×, 2.0× per consecutive win).
- Win:
- Server-side — XP is calculated and stored on the server so it can't be manipulated by the client.
- Boosts — Items like XP boost or double XP (when available) multiply the XP you earn for a number of rounds or games.
Cost and risk
- Higher cost per round usually means more XP on a win (and more Bucks spent on a loss). You choose how much to risk per game within your Bucks budget.
- Strategy: balance "many low-cost plays" vs "fewer high-cost plays" to maximize XP before you run out of Bucks or time.
Leaderboard rank
- Rank = your position when ordered by total XP (descending). Ties may be broken by time of last XP gain or other rules, depending on the battle.
- Real-time — As you and others earn XP, ranks update live. You can see yourself move up or down.
- Final rank — When the battle ends, the snapshot of the leaderboard is used to assign prizes.
Global and season leaderboards
Beyond a single battle:
- Global leaderboard — Aggregates your total XP (and optionally wins) across all battles. Used for bragging rights, badges, or future rewards.
- Season leaderboard — XP earned during a season can be tracked separately. End-of-season rankings may drive seasonal prize grids, jackpot tickets, or other rewards.
So: battle XP → battle rank → battle prizes; global/season XP → long-term standing and seasonal rewards.
