Creator battles
Liquidity-provider creators and community battles (coming soon)
We plan to support creator battles: projects (e.g. NFT communities or brands) can create battles for their community using the same XP Battles engine and games. Battles are "owned" by the creator, branded to their audience, and embeddable on their site via widgets and embed views. We offer a time-limited free tier (e.g. 1 month; whitelist-only, we take a percentage of the prize pool), after which creators move to a paid plan (unlock passes, SDK, templates, and higher limits).
Tiers (planned)
| Tier | Who | Price | Key features |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free | Whitelisted creators | Free for limited time (e.g. 1 month); we take a % of the prize pool. Then move to paid. | Create battles, use embed/widget; apply or invite-only. Good for trying it out; not long-lived—creators move to Pro or higher. |
| Pro | Growing creators | $79–$99/mo (unlock pass, renewable) | SDK + API key for secure access. Templates & widgets to drop into your app. Boilerplate (e.g. Next.js starter). Higher battle limits, creator leaderboard, priority support. |
| Enterprise | Large projects / custom needs | Custom | Custom limits, SLA, dedicated support, optional custom terms or on-prem. |
- Unlock passes — Pro (and optionally higher) tiers are gated by an unlock pass that can be renewed (monthly or annually). One pass = access to that tier's features.
- Free tier — No upfront cost for a limited period (e.g. 1 month); we earn when you earn via a % of the prize pool. Access is whitelist-only. Not long-lived—after the period, creators move to a paid plan (Pro or higher).
- No-cost deposits (optional) — Creators can instead deposit funds with us at no cost (no fee to deposit). That deposit backs a pass and can earn yield for the creator; we earn from the spread or yield on the liquidity. Good for capital-heavy projects who prefer yield over per-battle fees.
What creators get
- Create battles — Launch battles that your community can see and enter (or open but branded). Set entry fee, prize pool structure, and splits (e.g. 70% to players by rank, 20% to you, 10% to platform).
- Embed & widget — Embed battle cards and full lobby/game flows on your site (iframe or widget). We provide embed routes and a widget package so your community can enter and play without leaving your site.
- Pro: SDK + API key — Install our npm SDK and use an API key from your dashboard. Use templates or widgets as needed, or a boilerplate (e.g. full Next.js app) to ship fast with minimal setup.
- Optional: no-cost deposit → pass / yield — Deposit funds with us at no cost; that deposit backs your pass and can earn yield for you. We earn from the yield/spread on the deposit, so we may reduce or waive per-battle fees. Suits capital-heavy projects. Details TBD.
Token-gated entry (planned)
Creators can restrict who can enter a battle using token-gating: only users who hold a minimum amount of your token (or at least one of your NFTs) on a given chain can enter. This is ideal for projects on any chain (e.g. Base, Ethereum, Arbitrum, Polygon) that want to run battles for their holders only.
-
How you configure it — When creating a battle, a "Who can enter?" section lets you choose:
- Anyone — No gate (default).
- Token-gated — You pick the chain, the token or NFT contract address, and the minimum amount (e.g. "Hold at least 100 $PROJECT" or "Hold at least 1 NFT"). Optionally, multiple rules (e.g. "100 token on Base or 1 NFT on Ethereum") with AND/OR logic. All of this is set in the creator UI; no code required.
-
What entrants see — The battle page shows the requirement (e.g. "Hold ≥ 100 $PROJECT on Base to enter"). They connect a wallet that holds the token or NFT; we check the balance on that chain. If they meet the requirement, they can pay and enter as usual; if not, entry is blocked with a clear message.
-
Summary — One config per battle (chain + contract + min amount), configurable from the create-battle UI. Entrants must connect a wallet that satisfies the gate before entering.
Simplest flow: access-pass NFT + airdrop — For the most seamless experience, creators can mint an "unlock" or access-pass NFT and airdrop it to their community (e.g. after sign-up or to a list of wallets). The battle is then gated on "hold at least 1 of this NFT". You control who gets access by who you airdrop to; no need for entrants to buy or hold a separate token. We support gating on EVM chains (Ethereum, Base, Polygon, Arbitrum, etc.). Tools like Thirdweb support many EVM chains and let you deploy, mint, and airdrop NFTs—so creators can issue passes on the chain that fits their community. Cardano and other non-EVM chains are not supported by Thirdweb today; token-gating on those would require different tooling or a future integration. We're interested in supporting Cardano and similar chains—if you're building on Cardano (or another non-EVM chain) and want to use creator battles, reach out; we'd love to explore testing and early access with you.
Sign up first, then airdrop or grant access — Users can sign up with email, Discord, or by connecting a wallet. Creators see their community (e.g. in a dashboard or via Discord) and decide who gets access. You can airdrop the access-pass NFT to those users' wallets (once they've connected an EVM wallet), or we may support granting access directly (e.g. an allowlist by email or Discord ID) so they can enter without holding an NFT. Either way, you identify your loyal community first, then give them access—chain-agnostic on the sign-up side.
Monetization summary
- Free (whitelist, time-limited): Free for e.g. 1 month; we take a percentage of the prize pool (or entry fees). After that, creators move to a paid plan.
- No-cost deposit (optional): Deposit funds at no fee; you may earn yield, we earn from spread/yield. Can reduce or replace per-battle fees.
- Pro: $79–$99/mo unlock pass (renewable). SDK, templates, boilerplate, higher limits, leaderboard. Lower or no % take on battles (TBD).
- Enterprise: Custom pricing; custom limits, SLA, support.
Exact mechanics, percentages, and eligibility will be defined at launch. If you're a project interested in creator battles—or in the free tier, Pro, or enterprise—we'd love to hear what would work best for you. Reach out at hello@xpbattles.com.
